Volunteer and Peer Pals Program

ica_primary_peerpals_logoGet Involved!

Include Autism offers many opportunities to join our community of friends. The
opportunities include Baseball League Buddies ages 9-17, Peer Pals 13-16, and Volunteer Coaches 17+. By volunteering with Include Autism, you can serve as a role model and mentor, and offer friendship for our program participants while gaining community service hours for a resume or college application. A Peer Pal and Volunteer can obtain valuable experience and education about Autism Spectrum Disorders and see first hand how capable and important these individuals are in our community.volunteer-2

Include Autism Interns support our Community Coaching program
participants in developing socially appropriate behaviors, peer interactions, communication strategies, friendship and citizenship skills, social independence and community safety skills in multiple community environments. The interns gain valuable hands-on training and experience working with the full spectrum of school-aged children and young adults with an autism diagnosis. Include Autism Interns work alongside directors that hold over 20 combined years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism as well as our Director of Behavioral Services, who is a B.C.B.A.

*All volunteers and interns 17+ are responsible for a health screening and TB test before their first scheduled shift.

Volunteer Testimonials

“Thank you for organizing today.

I just wanted to let you know that I received quite a few comments from NLYM parents, saying it was one of the best philanthropy events NLYM has participated in — ever.
I hope the athletes enjoyed it as much as the young men. I am sorry I could not be there to meet you, but Jake says he is definitely coming back to volunteer. He liked the fact that he recognized the athletes from last time and showed me a picture of his “buddy”” – Ronit
