JOB TITLE: Behavior Coach

JOB DESCRIPTION

Include Autism is a 501c3 nonprofit, community-based ABA program in both the Hillcrest and Poway areas of San Diego County.

The Include Autism Behavior Coach position is a part-time position.  A Behavior Coach’s role is to support program participants in developing socially appropriate adaptive behaviors, functional communication strategies, social independence, community safety, friendship and citizenship skills across multiple community environments.

The Behavior Coach will be trained as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work with school-aged kids, teens and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work effectively in a collaborative environment with program participants, their parents, and coworkers in peer groups, both on-site and in the community
  • Maintain the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Perform duties as related to program participants’ individual goals, objectives, and behavior plans.
  • Collect data as related to above
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
  • Have the desire to collaborate with not only I.A. management and team members but also others in the community that are part of our clients’ extened “teams”.
  • Attend ongoing organizational and ABA trainings and meetings.
  • Ability to execute ProACT/QBS trained techniques with program participants when necessary while providing crisis communication.
  • Be flexible!!
  • Serve as a “Public Face” representative of the program. May be asked to attend community/public events that include the organization such as Resource or Networking events, PR, Fundraising, etc. Responsible for professional presentation, attitude, and demeanor at all times as representative the company.

**Include Autism offers educational compensation and supervision for BCaBA/BCBA candidates interested in advancement in the company and field of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in the field of psychology, special education, or a related field.
  • Experience with developmental disabilities, in particular, Autism Spectrum Disorder, is preferred but not required.
  • 3 to 5 days per week of availability, 12:00/2:00 pm-6:30 pm weekdays (with some flexibility) and 10:30am-5:00 pm Saturdays.
  • A minimum of 3 but occasionally 4 Saturdays of availability per month must be offered.
  • Availability for team training 1 to 3 days per month as well as annual certification trainings.
  • Experience recording and synthesizing data is preferred but not required.
  • The qualities that encompass that of creativity, innovation, flexibility, and motivation to work with amazing individuals in a unique team environment.
  • A Behavior Coach must be able to successfully perform certain essential functions of this very physical job. This includes the ability to run, walk, stand, bend, twist, push, pull, reach above and below the shoulder, have the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, work outside, and have the energy needed with the ability to balance multiple tasks in a noisy, stimulating environment.
  • Once company training is completed the Behavior Coach will be compensated at a rate of $16.25/hour (training rate is $15 p/h)
  • Upon passing the RBT exam, compensation will be raised to $16.75/hour.

Additional merit raises may be awarded positive professional reviews.

JOB TITLE: Events and Marketing Internship

Include Autism is seeking an intern to assist with the Development Department, especially in the aspect of assisting with the planning and execution of a large gala style fundraising event, Include Autism’s Gatsby Gala.

This Internship will provide valuable insight into the “behind-the-scenes” workings of nonprofit fundraising and awareness events, as well as skills regarding community partnerships, fundraising, and marketing and advertisement. We are seeking a high-energy individuals who is open to learning new skills and who will act as a positive addition to the team.
